Ms. Lorelly Pujadas - Auditor General 14th May 2019 - 14th November 2023
Ms. Lorelly Pujadas is a senior auditing professional with extensive public sector auditing and budgeting experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (General); Major-Sociology, Minor- Political Science – University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada and is also a Graduate of Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA). She is a Fellow of the Canadian Comprehensive Auditing Foundation and has undertaken numerous professional development programmes including the International Program for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET) – Core Program Monitoring and Evaluation and Government Financial Management from the International Consortium on Governmental Financial Management and Graduate School, USDA.
Ms. Pujadas began her career in the public service in the position of Administrative Cadet and subsequently was appointed in 1983 as a Budget Analyst in the Ministry of Finance. In 1984, Ms. Pujadas left for London England to pursue professional accountancy examinations of the ACCA.
In January 1988, upon obtaining her graduate status with the ACCA, Ms. Pujadas was appointed to the position of Audit Senior in the Auditor General’s Department and was subsequently promoted to the positions of Assistant Audit Director, Audit Director and Assistant Auditor General, respectively.
Ms. Pujadas during the period 2008 October 01 - 2011 December 31 proceeded on approved leave as she took up a position as an Institutional Strengthening Manager, for the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) with responsibility for the design of programme and project proposals for the benefit of regional 1 Supreme Audit Institutions under the umbrella of the Caribbean Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (CAROSAI). She also participated in the design and development of certain IDI handbooks and manuals.
Ms. Pujadas was promoted in April 2015 to the position of Deputy Auditor General and in this capacity was Trinidad and Tobago’s representative on the CARICOM Audit Committee. This rotational role ended in 2019.
Ms. Pujadas had previously acted on numerous occasions as the Auditor General.
